hydros® technology

The hydros® technology has been designed by Karl Weiss for trenchless replacement and laying of new pressure pipelines for services and mains.

The term hydros® is an abbreviation and stands for hydraulic procedure for pipe pulling and splitting. The crucial difference to the procedures known up to this date is that the hydros® technology completely removes the old pipe material from the soil.

The hydros® technology removes old, brittle pipe materials (e.g. cast iron or

asbestos cement pipes) from the soil with the help of hydraulic pulling units.

The new pipelines are attached to the old pipeline by an adapter system. This way, the new pipeline is inserted into the soil at the same time the old pipeline is being removed.

Using this technology, which is extremely silent (<55 dB (A)) and free of vibrations, old pipelines can be replaced against new pipelines made of any material extremely quickly, economically, ecofriendly and completely. The following technologies are available:

hydros®BOY procedure

Replacement and laying of new services
hydros®LEAD procedure Replacement of services made of lead for the drinking water supply
hydros®PLUS procedure Replacement of mains up to
DN 500
hydros®STAR procedure Laying of new mains
