Trenchless technology for replacement of mains for the drinking water and gas supply up to diameters of DN (nominal diameter) 400 (400 mm) and individual pulling sections with lengths of up to 150 m.
These individual pulling sections are divided into partial pulling sections with lengths of up to 50 m due to necessary intermediate excavations for services, hydrants, etc. Compact hydraulic pulling units with pulling capacities of up to 1250 kN (depending on pipe diameter and replacement lengths) make an economical and ecofriendly construction possible.
A laying capcity of more than 100 m per day can be realized without any problems using this procedure with PE-HD annular grouting material. The technology's ecofriendliness is demonstrated by the fact that the old pipe material is completely removed from the soil. Additionally, and
compared to other known procedures, this method, which is free of vibrations, does not damage the root system of the vegetation. Therefore, this technology has been awarded the Innovation Award for Environmental Technology by the state of Berlin.
The hydros®PLUS technology is also the only authorized procedure in Germany for the trenchless replacement of pipelines made of asbestos cement.
In order to obtain the authorization the technology has been inspected by the Institute for the Safety of Labor of the German Employer’s Liability Insurance Association (BIA) and has been registered under code No. BT 13.
Due to its extremely low noise emissions of less than 55 dB (A), the hydros®PLUS technology has been given a special 24-hour authorization by the Environmental Agency of the state of Berlin. It was the only construction technology in Berlin to receive this authorization.
