starline®
fabric hose technology

The starline® technology uses a seamless, circularly woven fabric hose made of polyester fabric with a plastic coating. In an inversion process, i.e. a lining procedure using overpressure, the fabric hose is inserted into the pipeline to be rehabilitated, and uniformly bonds to the inner pipeline wall using a solvent-free two-component adhesive.

Major advantages of this technology are:

The pipeline is operationally reliable, that means it is gas tight, even in case of pipe fractures.

The textile tube is safe against pipe break

Due to the fact that the hose uniformly bonds to the inner pipeline wall, gas migration does not occur. Therefore, the pipeline can be conventionally spot-drilled for services without any difficulties after the starline® rehabilitation.

In contrast to other known relining procedures, the fabric hose technology causes only a minimum reduction of the diameter by a few millimeters.

The transport capacity of the relined pipeline is maintained and can even be enhanced due to the improved pipe smoothness.

All pipeline works taking place after the rehabilitation can be executed with conventional pipeline construction techniques. Special tools or special connections are not required.

The service life of a pipe relined using the starline® procedure is at least as long as that of a newly laid PE pipe if the host pipe's
statics is not weakened.

The following starline® technologies are currently in use:

starline®200 procedure

For rehabilitation of gas services with up to five 90° elbows
starline®1000 procedure For rehabilitation of drinking water mains up to DN (nominal diameter) 600 including approvals according to DVGW 270 and KTW recommendations
starline®2000 procedure For rehabilitation of gas mains up to DN 600 and a maximum operating pressure of 4 bar including approvals according to DIN 30658 and DVGW worksheet G 478
