Another successful field application of the new starline® fast curing system confirms great benefits, high reliability, and tremendous potential of this technology

Even the second demonstration of our starline®HPL (high pressure liner) technology with new fast-curing system in the U.S., this time in New York City, gave proof of its benefits, reliability, and potential. This time, the curing speed was increased by one-third, and we may see the curing time even further reduced in the future. Not only the Americans, but also we were enthusiastic to be able to witness a pressure pipeline of DN 300 being cut-off, cleaned, inspected, inverted, cured, tested, and reinstated in one working day from 7 AM until 6 PM. On the very same day, we have concluded a non-disclosure agreement with a potential licensee.

World novelty introduced successfully:

First field project using the revolutionary fast-curing technology for the starline® fabric-hose relining method in the U.S.

On a demonstration construction site on October 25, 2007, a pipeline relined with the starline® fabric-hose relining technology was cured immediately using the newly developed special starline® resin and a special module for fast curing.
This innovative technology is a quantum leap for the fabric-hose relining technology and makes it possible to release the pressure at a section of 100 meters in less than one hour; with cold curing, it would have to be held over night. The special starline® resin has been cured after a short time and fulfills the required peel test values in accordance with DIN 30658-1.
It is a great benefit, compared with the method to reduce the curing time by heat (using steam or hot water), to be able to avoid heat supply into the pipe body and liner. Thus, thermally induced weld seam fractures and damage to the liner are altogether excluded.
The new starline® curing process does completely without a heating and cooling phase required for hot-water curing thus achieving the reduced resing curing time relevant to field applications. For now, the innovative starline® fast curing system will be available for curing sections of up to 300 meters.
In a second development stage, the length will be increased to up to 600 meters and pipeline diameters of currently DN 600 up to DN 900.
This world-wide unique technology from Karl Weiss ensures the entire process of rehabilitation of pressure pipelines using the starline® fabric-hose relining technology including reinstating the pipe on one day.
