starline®
fabric hose technology

With the starline® technology, a fabric hose made of  polyester and coated with plastic bonds to the pipeline to be rehabilitated using a solvent-free two-component adhesive.

The textile tube is safe against pipe breaking

This technology was developed by Group of Karl Weiss in the early 1990s.

At the time, most starline®2000 applications were carried out for Berlin GASAG. The leaking gas pipelines, particularly in the eastern part of the city, were resealed.

The leaks had developed as a result of the conversion from town gas to dry natural gas, which caused the sealing elements in the lead joints of the cast iron pipes to dry out.

Other pipe materials besides cast iron can also be rehabilitated successfully, i.e. resealed, using this procedure.

Pressure drum in operation

Over 400 km of pressure pipelines have been successfully rehabilitated using the starline®2000 technology since its introduction at Berlin GASAG.

Today, all of the following starline® technologies are being applied successfully:

starline®200 procedure

Fabric hose technology for rehabilitation of gas services with up to five 90° bends
starline®1000 procedure For rehabilitation of drinking water mains up to DN 600 including approvals according to DVGW worksheet W 270 and KTW recommendations
starline®2000 procedure For rehabilitation of gas mains up to DN 600 including approvals according to DIN 30658 and DVGW worksheet G 478
