Civil and underground engineering |
|
Civil and underground engineering has been continuously developed and expanded since 1975. With our own qualified personnel and our own technological equipment, from vibration hammer to devices for underground curtains, with Mäkler guided hydraulic grab, with water retaining technology and underwater concrete know-how, as well as our own static and ground construction engineering, we are able to realize even the most complicated construction works.
Many major construction sites with high-quality sheeting methods for excavations up to a depth of 20 m (Berlin sheeting, sheet pilings, bored piles, underground curtains) such as Berlin Exhibition Center, |
Rudolf Virchow University Medical Center and Charité University Medical Center were successfully managed. In each case, KARL WEISS was either the team leader of the companies involved or the main contractor.
The excavation for a subway access at Zoologischer Garten station in Berlin serves as an example for a special area of operation for our device for underground curtains. Here, a 60 cm underground curtain with inserted sheet piling was inserted between a bricked mixed water channel (open mouth profile, width 2.50 m) and the subway tunnel. Then a leak-proof excavation was established at ground water level with the help of an underwater concrete foundation and pressed side connections between the sheet piling and the subway tunnel sealing. The operation was carried out free of vibrations and in a very confined space.
